Tro started as a small local brewery. Uh two brothers from the area returned to the area after school wanted to do something together. So they opened this brewery. Uh we started at a Harrisburg location, quickly outgrew that location, moved into this beautiful facility in Hershey, Pennsylvania 2011. Uh since that time, uh we’ve been very involved in the community. Work a lot with local farms, uh local charities.
You know, it’s we want to become Pennsylvania’s beer. And I think, uh we’re well on the way to doing that.
Our original can line used to be over with our bottle filler. They were both tucked into one little spot. Um every single 12pack that came off the line was put in a tray by hand. So, our old filler ran maybe60 180 cans a minute at at the fastest. I think with 16 ounce it was closer to like 80 cans a minute.
But as far as the line itself being a game changer, I mean we went from
1,000 cases at most a shift to being able to do the 5 to 6,000 12-pack like two 12 packs in a ship. Um which is wild. Currently, we can run at full speed. Our new can line only requires three operators to keep it running.
I will say Skyfab’s support, you know, the the flew people out here when we needed them here. Uh they were able to to get programming done, make the machine run as the team expected it to.
You know, 112,000 barrels of beer a year. So, I mean, it’s not a small operation. So, like I said, we run we run three shifts and there are times we will turn those machines on Sunday night and then knock turbul till till Friday night.
Very little downtime. The goal of packaging obviously is to just put out something that looks as good as the beer is going to taste. We want we want to catch the eye. We want to um draw the customer to it. Brewers work hard to make a great product. Packaging works hard to make it look fantastic on the shelf.
This place is it is a hub in our community. You get large gatherings of families. You get people coming together for birthday parties. You get friends just coming to see each other. It’s it’s awesome.
